Care: The Miniature Schnauzer should be clipped often, and brushed to avoid matting. They should always possess a moustache and eyebrows. |
Characteristics: The Miniature Schnauzer originated from the crossing of the Standard Schnauzer and possibly a Poodle, Miniature Pinscher, or Affenpinscher. They are generally very lively, alert, and obedient. They are generally quick to learn, but are quite sensitive. They love the family and need adequate playtime. |
Temperament: The Miniature Schnauzer should never be overly aggressive, or shy. But they will bark and alert to danger; they do not just bark at the wind. They should be active, alert, and playful. With gentle play Schnauzers do well with children and if sociallized properly will do well with other pets. |
Training: Training of the Miniature Schnauzer is usually quite easy. They love to please and are intelligent; but also very sensitive to harsh treatment, thus training should be consitant, and gentle. They can become bored easily and need stimulation. |
